Shown in this 1915 Opening Day photo are Chicago Cubs Hall of Famer, Joe Tinker and Fielder Jones (then manager of the Federal League’s, St. Louis Terriers). Tinker was the first to jump to the Federal League in 1913. Offering large contracts, the FL attempted to challenge the AL & NL as a third league in the Majors. This caused a sharp upturn in the salaries of such stars as Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, & Walter Johnson. Photo is EX with pencil writing and slight scrapbook damage on verso.
