The author of this fine four page handwritten letter is none other than the Boston Strong Boy, the link between bare fists and gloved boxing. Penned after his retirement from boxing, dated January 24, 1908, Sullivan writes to a friend with encouragement and optimism over life in general. Beautifully written on four separate pages on “Powers Hotel” stationary and boldly signed on the last page with his full name, “John L. Sullivan.” Paper is EX-MT and the black fountain ink shows only slight fading in some spots, overall very bold. Signature grades “7” out of a possible 10. Miraculously, the pages of stationary are almost without toning. Comes with LOA signed by boxing expert, Craig Hamilton.
