Presented is a rare horseshoe made by Robert Fitzsimmons, one of the greatest fighters ever to enter a ring. Best remembered for his ring exploits: In 1891 he defeated the great Jack “The Non Pareil” Dempsey to win the World Middleweight title; in 1897 he took the World Heavyweight title from James J. Corbett; after losing that title he went on to capture the World Light Heavyweight title in 1903 from George Gardner. But Fitzsimmons was also a fine blacksmith. As his career took off he often forged fine souvenirs in the shape of horseshoes for special friends. This one is adorned with stamped stars on the front, and his name, “Bob Fitzsimmons” stamped in several places. LOA signed by boxing expert, Craig Hamilton.
