An amazingly detailed stained glass and lead interior window panel depicting a Polo match, circa 1910. The stained glass window was commissioned by legendary British Cricket player K.S. Ranjitsinhji for installation at his English Manor beside the River Thames at Staines, Middlesex, which he christened Jamnagar House. The window hung there until 1933, the year of Ranjitsinhji’s death, when they were removed and stored for the next 70 years. “Ranji” as he was known, is credited as being one of the greatest Cricket players ever, enjoying international fame and adulation during his lengthy career which spanned the early 1890s through 1920. This stained glass masterpiece is presented within a wooden window frame, exhibiting the exceptional workmanship found only in pieces by master craftsman. 37 x 20 ? inches.
