Phenomenal advertising piece shows the Chicago Baseball club with President Grover Cleveland, before the team embarked on the world tour of 1888-89. Enormous “Orcutt” lithograph boasts the image of all the players from the Chicago Cubs who made the tour, with a focus on Cap Anson, shaking hands with the President. Litho is underlined by the sentiment, “Grover Cleveland, President of the United States, Bidding farewell to the Chicago Baseball Club upon their departure for Australia.” A 10x9” blank space in the upper right hand corner is allotted for advertising. Also in the frame is: Hon. Frank Lawler, Williamson, Frank Lincoln, Pettit, Pfeffer, Tener, Baldwin, Ryan, Burns, Daly & Sullivan. Lightly restored in a couple spots. Framed to 32.5x40”. EX-MT.
