His is perhaps the most fascinating and timeless story in the history of golf. The legendary Bobby Jones won 13 major championships and was the only player to win all 4 majors in the same year. After retiring at age 28, Bobby Jones continued to be a scholar, family man, competitor, and above all else, a gentleman. As you will see from this autobiography entitled, Golf is My Game (copyright 1960), Bobby Jones was also quite a writer. Best is his blue ink inscription and signature on the front free endpaper: “For Ruth Andrews with best wishes, Robert T. Jones, Jr.” Signature grades an “8.5” out of a possible 10. The same page is additionally inscribed by another friend of Ruth Andrews: “Congratulations, Ruth, on winning the Goodyear Women’s Tournament in 1963.
