Quite a prize, this is the most elusive piece of collectible equipment from the gridiron, worn by the greatest quarterback of all time. In nearly complete condition, which is a rarity as well, with one clip missing (all others replaced). This was worn by Cool Joe circa 1990, a career season for Montana, who earned his 3rd Super Bowl MVP award after leading his team to their 4th World Championship 55-10 over the Denver Broncos. Joe Montana became the first player in history to achieve that trifecta. Adorned with red & white stripe down middle, San Francisco logo on either side, and of course the official NFL logo sticker on the back. “49ers” sticker on the front rubber guard above the facemask. “16 Montana” on dymo tape on inside above right earhole. NOSCAE sticker affixed below left earhole denotes manufacturer’s testing standards, a practice started in 1969. Use is light but definite with just a few scuffs on top of helmet. Inner padding is completely intact except for the missing left ear pad and shows decent wear.
