More than just a rock star, the great American poet, Jim Morrison mesmerized a generation with his mystical poetry. Here we offer a poem, typed by Morrison and annotated at the top in his own hand, "Is there a moon in your window / Is madness laughing." Poem reads: "Can you still run down beach rocks bed below w/out him? / Your dog is lost in the frozen woods or he would run to you / How can he run to you? lunging w/ blooded sickness on the snow / A kind lady has taken your poor dog in And feeds him soft milk, kindness, lies & white / How can he run to you? / He's still scratching streets & searching strangers for you smell which he remembers very well. (Kynaston's bride may not appear But the odor of her flesh is never very far) / & so we must know you / Why does my mind circle around you? / Why do planets wonder what it would be like to be you? / All your soft wild promises were words / Birds endlessly in flight." On 8.5x11" paper, covered with a charming brown patina. VG.
