Autobiography signed by P.T. Barnum, the man who had the most influence on 19th Century America, the greatest showman ever. Endpaper of book is inscribed “To F. Davis Esq., with author’s compliments PT Barnum, Waldon’s Bridgeport Conn, Sept 26th, 1885”. This book was originally published in 1851 but was updated in 1885. Bridgeport is significant as he was mayor of the city and it was known as “the city that PT Barnum built”, eventually housing the P.T. Barnum Museum which exists today. Inscription is in black fountain pen and two letters are a bit smeared. Book is very good, binding is a bit loose, pages are tanned.
