The Leagues most promising rookies are recognized each year with the presentation of the trophy named for Frank Calder. This vintage miniature grail is engraved with “Calder Memorial Trophy to be awarded annually to the player selected as the most proficient is his first year of competition in the National Hockey League”. Identical in every way to the personal trophy awarded each year to the game’s top new talent. This example is certainly vintage and has aged in appearance with a wonderful patina. The black wood base shows a crack, otherwise in excellent condition. It was presented in the late 1960’s by the National Hockey League to former Boston Bruins Vice President Charles Mulcahy. Letter of Authenticity signed by Charles Mulcahy.
