Presented is a 1983 Jim "Hacksaw" Duggan double-signed wrestling contract with Best of Texas Wrestling. The contract is for a wrestling match in Houston, Texas, for Friday, Sept. 23, 1983. Born James Edward Duggan in 1954 in Glens Falls, New York, Duggan played three sports in high school, wrestling, football, and baseball. He attended Southern Methodist University on a football scholarship. After failing to make the Atlanta Falcons, Duggan became a professional wrestler. Over a long wrestling career that began in the 1970s, Duggan was often a comical wrestler, often wrestling on the undercard. Later, he often wrestled as a villain, and for a time wrestled as Big Jim Duggan in the contiguous United States and as The Convict in Hawaii, where he wore a mask. Duggan once was part of a story line in which he feuded with Butch "Hacksaw" Reed, alleging that Reed has stolen Duggan's nickname. Duggan won the first ever Royal Rumble in 1988, and he was once a WWE heavyweight champion. Hacksaw Duggan is now semi-retired from the ring.

The contract measures 8.5x11". The contract page is headed "TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF LABOR AND STANDARDS/BOXING OR WRESTLING CONTRACT." The fee is listed on the contract as "$25.00 and other considerations." The contract states that the fight was for "xxx, Pellis," and Pellis may be a misspelling for "Pallies" which was King Kong Bundy's legal last name. The signed contract has pinholes in the top left corner. It is overall EXCELLENT condition. Using a fine tip black marker, Duggan signed the contract as "Jim Duggan." the contact has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA Certified as "AUTHENTIC AUTO."
