Offered is a Sept. 2, 1997, David Ortiz ticket stub from Big Papi's MLB debut, at Wrigley Field. A Hall of Famer, Ortiz played parts of six seasons (1997-2002) with the Minnesota Twins before moving on to the Boston Red Sox for the remainder of his career. Mostly a designated hitter, Ortiz also played first base. He batted a career .286, with 541 home runs, 2,472 hits, and 1,768 RBIs. David was a 3-time World Champion, the 2013 World Series MVP, the Al home run hitter in 2006, a Roberto Clemente Award winner and a 2-time Hank Aaron Award winner.

In Ortiz's Major League debut, Big Papi entered the game as a pinch-hitter for Travis Miller in the top of the 7th inning with one out, with his Twins trailing the Cubs by 9-2. On a0-1 pitch from Cubs' starter and winner mark Clark, Ortiz flew out to left field. The Cubs' Sammy Sosa hit his career #203 home run in the same game.

The offered stub measures approx. 1.75x4.25". It reads, in part, "TERRACE BOX/&$17.00 TOTAL/Wrigley Field 1997/CUBS vs MINNESOTA TWINS/GAME 70/Tue., Sept. 2, 1997/7:05 pm". The ticket stub is in EXCELLENT condition.
