Displayed is a 1930s Honus Wagner photograph signed by the Inaugural Hall of Famer with a terrific PSA MINT 9 signature. Wagner played 21 Major League seasons, all in the National League: Louisville Colonels (1897-1900), Pittsburgh Pirates (1900-17). He was a defensive marvel at shortstop, but he could play all the infield and outfield positions and was often used at first base, third base, and in the outfield. He batted a career .324 and won eight NL batting titles. He was also a 1909 World Champion. Wagner had 3,420 hits and 723 stolen bases. He was a coach with Pittsburgh from 1933-51.
The photograph measures 2.75x4.5". It seems to have been cut from an album or display, as the photo is affixed to thick cardboard or card stock. Using black fountain ink, Wagner, whose actual first name is Johannes, signed as J. Honus Wagner. The photo has a very tiny "+" written by an unknown hand on the right margin. The photo has a few very small, light stain marks, hardly noticeable. The photo has been encapsulated and has a PSA/DNA CERTIFIED AUTO GRADE of MINT 9 (85324529).
