Presented is a unique Mickey Mantle signed Kodak color photograph in which Mantle, obliging a request from the original owner, signed with his "rookie autograph." In the photograph, Mantle is in an away New York Yankees uniform, posed in some unknown visitor's dugout. Mantle looks to be in his early career from his appearance. Mantle was a 7-time World Champion. a 3-time AL MVP, a Triple Crown winner whose 536 home runs are still the most by any switch-hitter in baseball history.
The offered photograph measures 6.5x8.5", matted and framed to 11.5x13.5". The Mantle signature is in blue, fiber-tip marker. Mantle signed this post-career at an autograph show, most likely in the '90s. While neat, the signature does not have the graceful, beautiful flow of his later signatures. What makes this of high interest is that Mantle signed with his rookie autograph style, but most likely at least four decades after his rookie 1951 season. Offering comes with a JSA LOA for the signature. The autograph appears to be 10/10. The offering is in EXCELLENT condition.
