A modern re-creation of the famous 1889 Goodwin & Co. Baseball Round Album advertising poster. The piece is hand painted by an unknown artist on tin board (17x22") and is presented in a 23.5x29.5" wood frame. The poster is for Old Judge and Dogs Head Cigarettes and advertises that the company would send a baseball album in return for 75 certificates from packs of cigarettes. The piece features paintings of the following players; Cap Anson, John Montgomery Ward, Mickey Welch, J.M. Ward, Buck Ewing, Tim Keefe, James O'Rourke, George Gore, Roger Connor, and Hardy Richardson. This contemporary piece pays homage to one of the earliest key pieces of the baseball card collecting hobby. While the original artwork of this 1889 poster would likely sell in the six figure range, this modern reproduction of the original poster can be had for a fraction of that price.
