Troy Polamalu was an All-American safety for the USC Trojans, and then a Pro Football Hall of Fame safety with the Pittsburgh Steelers. In an unusual offering, presented is a Troy Polamalu USC game used mouthguard. Game used Polamalu items are rarely auctioned, let alone from college. Polamalu is of American Samoan descent. At USC he was a consensus All-American in 2002. In his college career, he had 278 tackles, 29 of those tackles for a loss, six interceptions, four blocked punts, and three touchdowns. As far as a player called Troy playing for the Trojans, Polamalu said, "I believe God named me Troy for a reason. I was born to come here." Polamalu went on to play 12 years in the NFL, all for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he was a major part of two Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl Champions. As a Steeler, he was named to the Pro Bowl eight times. With Pittsburgh, he had 770 tackles, 32 interceptions, and three touchdowns. Polamalu is noted for his "big" hair, and he once had the hair insured. As a result of his fame and his hair, he is often on television in Head and Shoulders commercials with Patrick Mahomes. 

Perhaps the offered mouthguard helped Polamalu to keep his nice smile and his Head and Shoulders commercials. The mouthguard is three inches wide and approx. 2.1" from front to back. It is in USC colors of red and gold (yellow), with the custom mouthguard all in gold (yellow) except for the USA logo, in red. The name "Troy Polamalu #43" is inside the mouthpiece The mouthguard is constructed of EVA plastic. The manufacturer is unknown. The mouthguard shows moderate use, and there is a player ID label affixed to the guard. The offering is in EXCELLENT condition.
