2008 Gary Sheffield Detroit Tigers signed and inscribed game used bat. Louisville Slugger model R161 maple bat features natural finish on the handle and black on the barrel, measures 34.5", and weighs 33.1 ounces. Bat is uncracked and excellent use is displayed with a cloth-taped knob and residue on the handle, and outstanding ball impressions in white against the black barrel. Number 3 is written on the knob in black and on the barrel end in silver, and it is autographed between trademark and barrel stamp in 8/10 silver marker. Written below is "Game Used 2009 - 500 HR Season," also in silver; note that, while the barrel writing indicates 2009, and the autograph LOA from PSA incorrectly notes that it says "2005," the included game use LOA from PSA does verify that it was from the '08 season, with the bat earning an immaculate grade of PSA/DNA GU 10. 2008 was, in fact, Sheff's last season in Detroit and the penultimate campaign in his 22-year MLB tenure, which included joining the elite 500 Home Run Club with a total of 509.
