Vintage retail baseball signed in either blue or black fountain pen by eleven individuals, including both Hall of Famers and stars. Featured among the signers are Honus Wagner (sweet spot; grading 6/10), Paul Waner (alone on a side panel; grading 6/10), Dizzy Dean (alone on a side panel; grading 5/10), Lou Boudreau, Allie Reynolds, Ray Mack, Mickey Rocco, Rusty Peters, and Gene Desautels. (The remaining two signatures are illegible.) The signatures range from 2/10 to 6/10, averaging 4/10. Based upon the signers, this ball most likely dates from the mid-1940s, a time when many of the signers were members of the Cleveland Indians. Wagner was a coach with the Pirates during the entire decade, while Dean was enjoying a second career as a radio announcer, which began in 1941. The ball is moderately toned (manufacturer's stampings are partially legible) with a few small abrasions. The ball is accompanied by a custom-made display case. Full LOA from PSA.
