Pair of Shaquille O'Neal game-worn Reebok "Dunkman" sneakers, with each shoe inscribed "Shaquille O'Neal 34" on the outer side panel. Both signatures have been scripted in gold paint pen and grade 5/10 overall. These sneakers originate from O'Neal's former Executive Assistant and longtime business partner Michael Parris and are accompanied by a signed one-page letter, dated September 4, 1997, from Parris attesting to their game-used provenance during the 1996-97 season with the Los Angeles Lakers. The size 22 sneakers display moderate wear throughout.
The 1996-97 season marked O'Neal's first season in Los Angeles, where he teamed with rookie Kobe Bryant to help lead the club to 56 wins. O'Neal led the club in both points per game (26.2) and total rebounds per game (12.5), numbers which later earned him a ninth-place finish in the MVP voting at season's end. One of the most dominant centers in NBA history, O'Neal finished his career with 28,596 points, 13,099 total rebounds, and one MVP Award, while winning four NBA Championships. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016. Full LOA from PSA (for the signature only). Additional letter of provenance from Michael Parris.
