Both an "Associated Press" credit stamp and "Jun 27 1941" date stamp appear on the reverse, along with remnants of the original paper news caption. Research indicates that this photo took place at the Fresh Meadow golf course in Flushing, New York. Ruth and Cobb engaged in a series of three charity golf matches during the summer of 1941, with the match on June 27th the second of the three. Ruth won the match at Fresh Meadow, which evened the series at 1-1. The photo (9x7") displays several light creases throughout. Encapsulated by PSA as Type I Authentic.
