A bat used by legendary San Diego Padre Tony Gwynn to hit a home run off fellow Hall of Famer Tom Glavine. The Louisville Slugger model B267 shows amazing signs of use with a taped handle and knob, extensive pine tar and ball strikes and seam marks all along the barrel. The uncracked bat is 33" long and weighs 31.5 ounces. Written on the knob of the bat is "5/9/98, B267, 33-30 1/2, 19 and #2827." Gwynn used the bat to record his 2,827th hit, a May 8th, 1998 home run Gwynn hit off of Glavine. The Padre signed the bat on the barrel in black ink. Included in the lot is a Letter of Authenticity and grading from PSA. The service has determined that this was the bat used to hit the home run off of Glavine and has assigned the item a grade of Game Used 10. The Padre would go on to record 3,141 hits in his career and sadly passed away from cancer in 2014. This is as good a game used bat as you could find from the iconic hitter and would make an incredible addition to any collection.
