Official American League baseball (league president's name no longer visible) signed in black fountain pen by the following seventeen members of the 1929 World Champion Philadelphia Athletics: Foxx, Mack (Mgr., sweet spot), Cochrane (clubhouse signature), Grove, Collins, Miller (clubhouse signature), Summa, Shores, Hale (twice), Haas, Quinn, French, Burns, Yerkes, Rommel, Perkins, and Earle Mack (coach). The black fountain-pen notation "Athletics 1929" is scripted on the sweet spot. Signatures average 7/10 in grade. The ball is moderately soiled and remains in Very Good condition. This ball has the special provenance of originating from the personal collection of noted Philadelphia sportswriter William Weart.
