The '98 Yankees had a regular season record of 114-48. The Bronx Bombers defeated the Texas Rangers to win the season's Division Series, and the Yanks defeated the Cleveland Indians to win the AL pennant. In the '98 World Series, the Yankees swept the San Diego Padres. In the regular season, Jeter batted .324 with 19 homers; Bernie Williams led the AL in batting (.339). Key winning pitchers were David Cone (20 wins), David Wells (18 wins) and Andy Pettitte (16 wins). Rivera had 36 saves and a 1.91 ERA.
