Displayed is a Ted Williams signed 8x10" color photo display, along with a Ted Williams signature on the back of his Hall of Fame postcard. On the signed 8x10" Williams photo, Ted, the great Hall of Fame Boston Red Sox left fielder is posing with another Red Sox great Hall of Fame of Fame left fielder, Carl Yastrzemski. The famed Fenway Park scoreboard makes a wonderful backdrop. Williams, "The Splendid Splinter," is in the visiting uniform of the Washington Senators, from the time when he managed the team, 1969-71, and then in 1972 when the franchise moved to Dallas to become the Texas Rangers. A lifetime .344 batter with six AL batting crowns, Williams bashed 521 career home runs, an amazing total considering that he missed nearly the equivalent of five seasons because of military service as a pilot in two wars. Williams remains the last Major Leaguer to hit .400, as Ted batted .406 in '41.
Williams signed the photo in blue, fine tip marker, crafting a big and bold, neat and flowing signature. There is a circular Red Sox emblem, measuring approx. 2.25" in diameter below the Williams photo. The Williams Hall of Fame plaque postcard, measuring 3.5x5.5", has been signed on the address side by Williams, in neatly scripted dark blue or black ballpoint ink. The signed postcard is in EXCELLENT condition. The photo has been matted with attractive Red Sox colors of red and blue, and the entire display has been framed to approx. 14.25x18.3". The display is in EXCELLENT condition.
