Vintage autograph scrapbook, compiled in 1934 and 1935, featuring the signatures of sixty-seven Major League players, including four different team sheets, plus individual cuts, index cards, letters, etc. A total of thirteen Hall of Famer signatures are featured in the collection. The original owner of this scrapbook collected all the signatures featured within by mail. Ideally, when mounting the signatures in the scrapbook, he also mounted the return envelope, so that we can see by the postmarks that all the pieces here were obtained between the years 1934 and 1935. Unless otherwise noted, all the signatures have been scripted in either blue or black fountain pen and grade 8/10 or better. All the items have been mounted, either fully or partially by means of an adhesive, except for the Terry signature (mounted with photo corners). Most of the items are toned and display mailing folds. In Good to Very Good condition overall. The spiral-bound scrapbook itself (12x15") is in Fair condition, with heavily torn covers and tears to the brittle pages. It should be noted that the Lou Gehrig signature originally mounted in this album was removed by Lelands and is being offered separately in this auction. Also included in the collection are two photos signed, respectively by UCLA football players Don MacPherson and Ned Mathews. As with any large autograph collection such as this, one must allow for the possibility of some secretarial examples within the group.
