Pair of vintage store-brand baseballs, each signed, respectively, by members of the 1941 and 1942 Brooklyn Dodgers. 1) 1941 Brooklyn Dodgers. "Major League" ball signed in black fountain pen by sixteen individuals, including Medwick, Reese, Coscarart, Wasdell, Reiser, Walker, Owen, Phelps, Brown, Dressen (coach, sweet spot), Wicker, Fitzsimmons, and Hamlin. Also signed by longtime announcer Red Barber. Signatures average 5/10. The ball, which has been lightly shellacked, displays numerous scuffs and abrasions. Good condition overall. 2) 1942 Brooklyn Dodgers. "Boys Official" baseball signed in either blue or black fountain pen by twenty individual, nearly all of whom played with the Dodgers in 1942. Included Among the Dodgers signers are Reese, Medwick, Owen, Galan, Casey, Sullivan, Dahlgren, Dressen (coach, sweet spot), Rowe (sweet spot), and Rizzo. Also signed by Cardinals manager Billy Southworth and Cardinals outfielder Terry Moore, as well as by Dodgers announcer Red Barber. Signatures average 4/10. The ball, which has been lightly shellacked, displays numerous scuffs and abrasions. Good condition overall.
