Presented is a circa 2000 Montreal Expos batting helmet. At that time, Vladimir Guerrero Sr., father of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays, was Montreal's big gun. For example, in 2000, Guerrero Sr. bashed 44 home runs, and knocked in 123 runs while batting .345. But the Expos struggled, finishing 4th in the NL East.
The helmet shows great eye appeal, with red, white and blue colors. The helmet, with a flap over the left ear is designed for a right-handed batter. The front has the Montreal Expos logo. The back padding is present, but it has detached from the shell, and the padding is starting to break down. A handwritten "6 7/8," found on the back padding and written by an unknown hand, indicates the size. Inside the helmet is a warning tag. Another tag, of an unknown nature, has been removed from the underside of the brim. The batting helmet has some scratches, small stains and paint transfers. However, the helmet appears to have been unused. Aside from the aforementioned minor imperfections, the helmet is in nice condition.
