Cincinnati Reds road "throwback" jersey worn by Kevin Mitchell during the club's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Three Rivers Stadium on July 11, 1993. During the game both clubs paid homage to the 1925 season by wearing commemorative "throwback" uniforms, which were specially designed and produced by Mitchell & Ness. The gray pinstripe knit jersey features the Reds team logo on the left breast and  the number "7" on the reverse. The "C" portion of the logo is applied in red on black felt, while the lettering and the numeral are applied in red felt. A "Mitchell & Ness" label and "XL" size tag appear on the collar. Located on the left front tail are a "Cooperstown Collection" label and a white strip tag bearing the year "1925" embroidered in black. The most striking feature of the jersey is the large (5.75" in diameter) multicolor circular felt patch on the left sleeve that reads "National League Golden Jubilee 1876-1925." The jersey is original as issued and displays little-to-no wear. The lack of any wear is not surprising, given its one-game use and the fact that Kevin Mitchell did not appear in the game on July 11, 1993, which was won by the Pirates 3-2. Because of their one-time use, "throwback" jersey such as this are scarce and this is one of the more attractive examples we have seen.
