Displayed is a 1956 Mickey Mantle United Press Type I photo by Arthur Rickerby depicting the '56 AL Triple Crown winner kneeling in the on-deck circle at Yankee Stadium. Mantle was at the peak of his powers in '56. The center fielder won the AL Triple Crown with a .353 batting average, 52 home runs, and 130 RBIs as he led the Bronx Bombers to another World Championship. Mantle won his first AL MVP in '56, and he won three AL MVP Awards in his career. His 536 home runs remain the most for any switch-hitter in history. 

The black & white photo measures 7x9". The photo has a UPI stamp on back. The photo has some scratch lines and spotting (tiny dots) in some areas, and some small folds and corner wear. The United Press International suggested slug line, attached on back, reads: "SHOULDERING A BAT, MICKEY MANTLE KNEELS OUTSIDE THE DUGOUT AS HE WATCHES A GAME AT YANKEE STADIUM IN NEW YORK. HE'S THE YANKEE'S [SIC] BIGGEST TURNSTILE ATTRACTION SINCE JOE DiMAGGIO WAS IN HIS HEYDEY." The photo comes with a PSA LOA with a Photo Certification: 1P18266.
