Offered is the great opportunity to possess an incredible, early cut autograph and inscription of Joe DiMaggio, when the future Hall of Fame center fielder was only 18 years old and in his first full season as a member of the Pacific Coast League's San Francisco Seals. DiMaggio would go on to win a pair of AL batting crowns, three AL MVP Awards, and nine World Championships in a 13-year Major League career, all with the New York Yankees. In his first season in the minor leagues, DiMaggio played just three games as a 17-year-old with the San Francisco Seals in 1932. In his first complete season in 1933, Joltin' Joe batted .333. In 1935, his third and final season with the Seals, the Yankee Clipper reached amazing heights: A .398 batting average with 34 home runs. In '36, he started his New York Yankee career, and in '41 set the still-record consecutive games hitting streak at 56.

Interestingly, DiMaggio, using black fountain ink, signed his name as "J. Di Maggio," leaving a space between the two parts of his last name. As DiMaggio became more known, his last name was increasingly published as one word, instead of two, and the Clipper often signed autographs that way, by connecting, or almost connecting, the "Di" and the "Maggio." The cut signature and inscription were written on a piece of white paper or thin card stock, still in EXCELLENT condition, measuring approx. 1.4x3.4". DiMaggio wrote, "J. Di Maggio/Seals/August 23, 1933." The cut signature has been encapsulated and has a PSA/DNA Certified Auto Grade of "NM 7." In later years, with his great baseball career, his marriage to Marilyn Monroe, and fame as the "Mr. Coffee" spokesman, DiMaggio became a true idol in America. Thus, this youthful, and very rare, DiMaggio signature and inscription make a great bookend to his later years as an American immortal.
