Displayed is a LeRoy Neiman postcard of Earvin "Magic" Johnson (#32) and Larry Bird (#33) battling under the boards, signed by both Johnson and Bird. The postcard was made from an original serigraph edition. Neiman (1921-2012) was an expressionist painter who used brilliant splashes of color to depict athletes, musicians, and sporting events. After getting his big break working for Hugh Hefner at Playboy in the 1950s, Neiman went on to not only paint celebrities, but to become a celebrity himself. Magic Johnson and Larry Bird came into the NBA together after having been college rivals, and they both became Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductees. Johnson played numerous positions, but he was mostly a 6'9" point guard. Magic played his entire career with the Los Angeles Lakers (1979-91 & 1996 & 1999-2000). He was a 5-time NBA Champion and a 3-time NBA MVP. Bird played his whole NBA career with the Boston Celtics (1979-80 through 1991-92). He was a 6'9" power forward and a small forward. Larry was a 3-time NBA Champion and a 3-time NBA MVP. Also depicted in the painting are Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (#33), the Lakers center, and Kevin McHale (#32), the Celtics power forward.

The offered signed postcard measures approx. 5.4x7.9". Both Magic Johnson and Larry Bird have signed the front of the postcard in big and bold black marker signatures. Machine printed on back: "LeROY NEIMAN/"MAGIC"/Original Serigraph Edition of 375 signed and numbered plus 150 H.C. 38x25". The postcard has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA CERTIFIED "AUTHENTIC AUTO." The postcard is in EXCELLENT condition.
