Offered are two Gil Hodges signed index cards, one of them inscribed. Hodges played most of his 18-year Major League career with the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers. The 8-time All-Star had tremendous power and in all of baseball in the 1950s, only teammate Duke Snider (327) had more home runs than did Hodges (310). Hodges was also renowned for his defense at first base. He only won three Gold Gloves because he played much of his career before the Gold Glove Award was initiated. Hodges was a part of two Dodger World Championships, including the only World Series that the Brooklyn Dodgers ever won, in 1955. A decorated U.S. Marine combat veteran, Hodges was a brilliant leader who managed the 1969 Miracle Mets to the World Championship.
The two Hodges signatures: 1) A 3x5" (unlined) index card exhibits Hodges' very neat, flowing handwriting as he used blue ballpoint ink to pen: "Best Wishes/Gil Hodges." The index card has been encapsulated and has a PSA/DNA Certified AUTO GRADE of "MINT 9." 2) A 3x5" (unlined) index card displays Hodges' neat, bold signature, written in blue ballpoint ink. This index card has been PSA/DNA CERTIFIED AUTO GRADE of "NM-MT 8." Both index cards exhibit a very slight darkening, but the index cards are in overall EXCELLENT condition.
