Collection of 47 original black-and-white snapshot photographs taken by a young female Boston Red Sox fan in 1956 and 1957. Most of the photos picture Red Sox players at Fenway Park, but some also picture the players arriving at the ballpark in their respective cars. Eleven of the photos picture various players at a January 23, 1957, charity dinner sponsored by The Manchester Union Leader (a program from the dinner accompanies the album). Many also picture the original owner posing with the players. All but four of the photos are mounted (by means of photo corners) in a vintage album, with handwritten notes below each photo identifying the players and/or scene. The young girl was obviously enamored with many of the players, as she refers to several of them as "Handsome" when identifying them. Among the players pictured, either in or out of uniform, are Sammy White, Jackie Jensen, Bob Porterfield, Frank Sullivan, Dick Sisler, Mickey Vernon, Tommy Brewer, Jimmy Piersall, Dick Gernert, Norm Zauchin, Gene Stephens, and Don Buddin. Non-Red Sox players represented here include Yogi Berra and Ned Garver. Photos measure either 3.5x3.5" or 4.5x3.25". Excellent condition overall.
