Displayed is a 1961 World Champion New York Yankees reunion team-signed baseball with 31+ autographs, including Mickey Mantle and fellow Hall of Famers Yogi Berra and Whitey Ford. The '61 Yankees went 109-53 in the season to take the AL pennant, and the Bronx Bombers went 4-1 in games to defeat the Cincinnati Reds in the World Series. The regular season featured a riveting challenge by Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle to Babe Ruth's single-season record of 60 home runs: Maris edged Ruth by crashing 61 round-trippers and Mantle, beset by injury, finished with 54 dingers. Whitey Ford was the Yanks' pitching ace, with an AL leading 25 wins. The signatures on the Official American League Ball (Brown) are in blue ballpoint ink. Mantle and Berra signed on the sweet spot. Ford signed just to the left of the sweet spot. In addition to the aforementioned Hall of Famers, the ball was signed by manager Houk, Turley, Downing, Richardson, Daly, Terry, Sain, Arroyo, Blanchard, Torgeson, Sheldon, Lopez, Tresh, Reed, Skowron, Boyer, Stafford, and more.
