Original glass plate negative capturing Roy Campanella in 1949. Taken during spring training, this is a classic image of Brooklyn's Hall of Fame catcher, as it pictures him in a catching pose while wearing his shin guards and chest protector. Accompanied by its original paper sleeve, which identifies Campanella and lists the year as "1949." The negative (3.25x4.25"), which bears the production number "R16" in the upper left corner, displays a few tiny areas of emulsion loss along the perimeter. The letter "B" is written in each bottom corner. Together with three 8x10" modern photographic prints made by using this original negative.
