Displayed is a pair of Mickey Mantle autographs on index cards. Mickey was multi-talented to the extreme. The Hall of Fame center field New York Yankee icon still is the greatest switch-hitting home run hitter in history, with 536 blasts. He was great at winning the World Series, as the lifetime Yankee helped his Bronx Bomber teammates to seven World Championships. Mickey was also great at penmanship. World Class. As a youth growing up in Oklahoma, he worked in the office of a mining company, and when time permitted, he would practice writing his signature, over-and-over, filling yellow legal pads. Did he ever have any idea that someday his autograph would be in such demand? Maybe he did, because his endless practice paid off with the development of a flowing, unique signature: 1) A Mickey signature, rating 8/10, on a 3x5", blank index card. Mickey crafted his big and bold signature with a blue, ballpoint pen. The index card has both a minuscule indentation and a tiny spot stain in the lower right corner, but it is otherwise in EXCELLENT condition. 2) A Mantle signature, rating 7/10, on a blank 3x5" index card. Mantle signed in blue, ballpoint ink. There is a tear, less than a half inch, on the top center of the card, and a partial vertical fold down the middle. The Mantle signatures will display well and add superstar power to any collection.
