Displayed is a Richard M. Nixon photograph, personally signed and inscribed by the 37th United States President. Nixon was originally from Yorba Linda, California, and before becoming President, he had served as a representative and senator from California, and the Vice President of the U.S. under President Dwight Eisenhower from 1953-61. Nixon was the President from 1969-74, when he was forced to resign because of his involvement in the Watergate Scandal. He was the only U.S. President to resign his position. During his years as President, Nixon presided over the reduction of U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War, detente with the Soviet Union and China, the Apollo 11 moon landing, and the formation of the Environmental Protection Agency. The offering includes an approx. 8x10.25" color photograph (framed to 9.5x12") of Nixon, at one of his desks. The year of the photo is unknown, and it may have been taken before his years as President. Writing in blue ink, Nixon neatly scripted, "To Steve Jeniski, With best wishes/from Richard Nixon." Attached to the bottom of the photo frame is a "plaque" measuring 0.75x5", and reading, "RICHARD M. NIXON/37TH PRESIDENT OF THE U.S./ONLY PRESIDENT TO RESIGN - WATERGATE." The signed and inscribed photo is in EXCELLENT condition and the offering comes with a PSA LOA for the signature.
