A bat issued to former New York Yankees first baseman Nick Johnson in the early 2000s. The black Louisville Slugger is model C271. Johnson was a major prospect for the team in the late 1990s and broke in with the Yankees in 2000. A line drive hitter with an excellent eye, he was an early favorite of the Sabermetrics crowd. His best season came with the Nationals in 2006 when he hit .290 with 23 home runs and scored 100 runs. He retired following the 2012 season with a career batting average of .268 and a career on base percentage of .399.
