Dave Justice New York Yankees game worn 2001 World Series jersey. Dave Justice was already an established star when he joined the Yankees during the 2000 season. He played for the Atlanta Braves from 1989 to 1996, and then for the Cleveland Indians from 1997 to 2000. Justice made an immediate impact with the Yankees as he won the 2000 American League Championship Series MVP Award. He won the 2000 World Series, and returned to the World Series again with the Yankees in 2001. This jersey was worn by Justice during the 2001 World Series. A Russell Athletic tag is sewn to the front left tail of the jersey. Attached to that tag is a size 48 tag, and a "2" Extra Sleeve Length" tag. The Yankees' interlocking NY logo is sewn to the left chest of the home pinstripe jersey, and the 2001 World Series logo is sewn to the left sleeve. Also on the left sleeve is black armband. In 2001 the Yankees wore the armband to honor the victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. An American League 100 Seasons patch is present on the right sleeve. The back of the jersey includes Justice's number 28, and an American flag sewn into the jersey above the number. Justice played in 5 games of the 2001 World Series and collected two hits. The Yankees lost the Series in seven games to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
