The number 16 is written on the knob of the bat, which is Valdez's number. It is unknown whether is was Cedeno or Valdez (3 plate appearances in 2000) during a game, or both. Cedeno, who began his career with the New York Mets, would steal 213 bases over his career and finish with a career batting average of .271.
