1966-67 Johnny Bench Cincinnati Reds signed game used bat. This Hillerich & Bradsby model R43 bat is 35.5" and weighs 30.9 ounces. The bat shows outstanding signs of use and has a handle crack that has been repaired with nails. Bench autographed the barrel of the bat in black ink. "R43" is stamped on the knob of the bat. This bat was used early in Bench's career and dates from 1966-67. It originates from a former minor league teammate of Bench. Bench made his Major League Baseball debut towards the end of the 1967 season. In 1968, his first full season in the majors, Bench won the National League Rookie of the Year Award and was named to the N.L. All-Star team. Bench is widely considered as one of the best, if not the best catcher of all-time, and was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989. This bat was originally sold in the 2000 Charlie Sheen Lelands auction. The bat is graded 8.5 by PSA and comes with a full letter of authenticity.
