On August 1, 1936, the Phillies celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the National League’s founding. Each of the eight NL clubs did so on different dates during the season. As part of their festivities, the Phillies staged a 3-inning game played according to the rules of 1876. In addition, a number of former players were invited to attend the event, among whom were Jack Clements and Al Maul, who played for the Phillies in the 19th century. Also present were former Phillies Roy Thomas and Harry Coveleski, who earned the nickname "Giant Killer" for beating the New York Giants three times in one week to help the Phillies to the 1908 NL pennant. Each of the players who participated was presented with a commemorative ring to mark the occasion. This is one of the rings given out that day. The recipient’s initials are inscribed on the inner band of the ring. The inscription on the enamel head reads, “The Phillies 1936." The inscription around the enamel crown reads, "National League 60th Anniversary." Each shank has an image of a batter. Comes with box, but not original to the ring. The ring size is "10." Condition is very good, with minor wear. 10K.
