Displayed is a circa 1968 Elvis Presley Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Type I original photograph promoting his 28th film, Live a Little, Love a Little. In 1968, Elvis was in a record-selling slump, and he was relying mostly upon movies in his career. The film was a musical comedy, and Elvis played a photographer who has not informed two employers that he is simultaneously working two jobs: For a magazine similar to Playboy, and for a very conservative business run by a musical idol from another era, Rudy Vallee. Meanwhile, he falls in love with "Bernice," played by Michele Carey. Presley was 33 years old when the film was released, and the movie is the first film to give "The King" so-called adult situations, with profanity, drug use, and risqué behavior. The movie was based on Dan Greenburg's novel Kiss My Firm, But Pliant, Lips. The director, Norman Taurog, had directed a number of previous Presley movies, and this was his last film as a director, as he went blind after the filming. Elvis had his father appear as background in a scene, and some of Elvis' pals, nicknamed the Memphis Mafia, also appeared as extras. A song from the film, "A Little Less Conversation," was not a hit originally, but a remix of the song became a global Number 1 hit in 2010. After the filming of Live a Little, Love a Little, Elvis actually started a comeback as a recording musician. The offered black & white photo measures 7.25x9.4". The back of the photo shows suggested MGM copy. The photo has been encapsulated and PSA Certified as "TYPE I AUTHENTIC." The photo is in EXCELLENT condition.
