Presented is a 1998 Paul O'Neill New York Yankees game used Louisville Slugger Model C243 professional bat, from the Yankees World Championship season. O'Neill played 17 Major League seasons: Cincinnati Reds (1985-92), New York Yankees (1993-2001). For his career, the left-handed batter hit .288 with 281 home runs and 1,269 RBIs. In '98, O'Neill batted .317 with 24 home runs and 116 RBIs. O'Neill was a 5-time World Champion and a 5-time All-Star. He won the AL batting crown in 1994 with a .359 average. The offered ash bat has a flame burned finish. It has a length of 35.0", and a weight of 33.8 ounces. Etched on the barrel: "GENUINE C243/Paul O'Neill, in a facsimile signature/NEW YORK YANKEES." The bat exhibits outstanding use, with a very slight crack on the upper handle. The front and right barrels have been hammered with many ball marks, ball stitch impressions, and paint transfers. Cleat marks can be observed on all sides of the barrel. The handle has been taped approx. 15.5 inches in a wide criss-cross pattern to improve the grip. A PSA/DNA Certification sticker is on the bat head. The bat comes with a PSA/DNA Letter of Grading and Authenticity, with a PSA/DNA Certification (1B15726) and a PSA/DNA bat grade: "PSA GU 9.5." O'Neill is still active as a New York Yankees television broadcaster, and this game used bat, from a season in which the Yankees won a regular season record 125 games and swept the World Series against the San Diego Padres, is a valued collectible.
