Presented is a 1968 Detroit Tigers World Series championship trophy. These very rare trophies were given to players and high-ranking officials with the organization. On the base of the trophy are the Tigers logo and the St. Louis Cardinals logo, who faced off against each other in the World Series. There is also a baseball and a circle design with a crown on top. Rising up from the base of the trophy are 20 flags and each one includes an MLB team name. The trophy measures 11.5" tall and 7.125" wide. There is a gold-colored band around the base of the trophy that has "WORLD CHAMPIONS DETROIT TIGERS 1968" engraved into the band. The 1968 Tigers were led by pitching ace Denny McLain who won 31 games that year. The Tigers were 103-59 in the 1968 regular season and defeated the Cardinals 4 games to 3 in the World Series.
