Displayed is a Jackie Robinson signature on back of a wallet-sized, 1950s cut photo of the Hall of Famer in his Brooklyn Dodgers uniform. Because of the Major League "Color Line," Jackie Robinson did not reach the Major Leagues until he broke the color line in 1947. That year, he became the NL Rookie of the Year, batting .297 and leading the circuit in steals (29) and sacrifice hits (28). Jackie's best season was 1949, when he led the NL in batting (.342) and was named the NL MVP. The versatile player was a regular at various times of every infield position except shortstop. The 7-time All-Star played his entire Major League career with the Brooklyn Dodgers, batting a career .311. He was a part of six Dodgers pennant winners and the Dodgers' lone Brooklyn World Championship, in 1955. The cut, black & white photo measures approx. 2.2x2.7". The back of the photo is inscribed (Best Wishes) and signed by Robinson in 8/10 blue pen. The signed photo has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA Certified as "AUTHENTIC AUTO."
