Graig Nettles was an excellent two-way third baseman who played 22 Major League seasons, including time with the New York Yankees and San Diego Padres. Displayed is a circa 1984 Graig Nettles signed Louisville Slugger bat. Nicknamed "Puff," Nettles batted a career .248, with 390 home runs. He was an outstanding fielder, winning two Gold Glove Awards for his play at third base. In the 1984 season, Nettles played for his hometown team, the San Diego Padres. He batted .228, with 20 home runs and 65 RBIs. Nettles was a 6-time All-Star and a 2-time World Series Champion. The offered Louisville Slugger bat has a simulated Nettles autograph etched on the barrel. Also, etched on the barrel; "Genuine S44" and "Louisville Slugger." The knob has "9" written by an unknown hand in black marker. There are pine tar remnants below the label. The bat is 34.75" in length, and it weighs 31.8 ounces. The bat shows a number of ball marks and other evidence of use. Nettles signed the bat in blue marker, with a bold, clearly written signature on the mid-barrel.
