Collection of seven "panoramic" photographs capturing various Major League ballparks circa 1940s. It should be noted that these are not panoramic photos in the technical sense, but instead a panoramic effect has been achieved by joining two or more original photos. Each of the "panoramas" captures the outfield grandstands of the respective ballpark, including all the advertising signs. All but one of the stadiums are identified in vintage handwriting on the reverse or side. If a year is listed, it is based solely upon the date written on the piece. Most of the photos are attached by a combination of linen backing and tape on the reverse.
In our listing we have included the number of photos that make up each "panorama" and the total dimensions. All are in Excellent condition overall. The collection consists of the following: 1) Polo Grounds 1939. Four photos. 37x8". 2) Polo Grounds 1934. Two photos. 18.5x7.5". 3) Polo Grounds 1941. Four photos. 35.25x7.5". 4) Braves Field 1941.
