Jose Reyes was a 4-time NL All-Star shortstop who played 12 seasons for the New York Mets (2003-11 & 2016-18). Presented is a June 3, 2006, game used Jose Reyes New York Mets, M9 Louisville Slugger bat. Reyes, in a career lasting through 2018, also played for the Miami Marlins, Toronto Blue Jays, and Colorado Rockies. He batted a career .28, with 145 home runs and 517 stolen bases. He was the National League batting champion in 2011 with a .337 average. The maple TPX black bat has a length of 33.25" and a weight of 28.9 ounces. It is cracked near the end of the barrel. On the knob is "7" in silver marker written by an unknown hand. Extensive pine tar residue is on the handle. The trademark area reads, "Louisville Slugger M9." Etched on the barrel is "GENUINE R205/JOSE REYES/NEW YORK METS." The barrel end is hollowed out, and a "7" is written inside the hollow end by an unknown hand in silver marker. The barrel has an MLB logo. The bat shows great use, with ball marks, nicks, scuffs, and dents. There is also an MLB hologram (087586 BE? or BF?) on the barrel. On the June 3, 2006, date when Reyes used the bat, the Mets split a doubleheader at Shea Stadium with the San Francisco Giants. It's unclear whether Reyes used the bat in one or two of the games that day, when he went 1-for-4 in the first game, with a triple off Giants starter Matt Cain, a run, and an RBI in the Giants 6-4 win. In the second game, Reyes again went 1-for-4, with a single off Jamie Wright, a walk, a run, and an RBI.
