The amazing Sandy Koufax is undoubtedly one of the best pitchers in baseball history. Displayed is an authentic Sandy Koufax Los Angeles Dodgers Mitchell & Ness gray away jersey that the Hall of Fame left-hander has signed and inscribed. Inscribed, "4 No Hitters 62, '63, '64, '65." Known as 'the Left Arm of God," Koufax had such a strong arm that the legendary Branch Rickey said, "This is the greatest arm I've ever seen." Koufax pitched 12 Major League seasons (1954-65), all with the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers. Koufax has a 165-87 career record, with a 2.76 ERA and 2,396 strikeouts. He was the first 3-time Cy Young Award winner, each time a unanimous selection, and a 3-time winner of the NL Pitching Triple Crown. He was a part of two Dodger World Championship teams, and one of his four no-hitters was a perfect game on Sept. 9, 1965, a 1-0 victory over the Chicago Cubs and the first time in the modern era that a left-hander had thrown a perfect game. Koufax is one of the very best Jewish athletes in professional sports history, and when he chose to forego pitching in Game 1 of the 1965 World Series because the contest was on Yom Kippur, a high holy day in his faith, he became even more renowned.
